High Peaks of Adirondacks

July 9th-12th

High Peaks Wilderness

New York - Adirondacks

This is a 3-night, women-only Adirondack adventure based out of Heart Lake Loj campground in New York’s High Peaks Wilderness, one of the most iconic gateways to the 46er peaks.

We’ll be camping at a well-established basecamp surrounded by dense forest, mountain views, and classic Adirondack wilderness. Participants bring their own camping gear (tents are required), though a limited number are available to borrow if needed. Meals and group logistics are handled, so you can focus on the experience while settling into shared camp life. Tents and sleeping gear stay at camp each day while we explore with just daypacks.

On July 10th, we’ll ease into the landscape with relaxed warm-up hikes around the Heart Lake area, followed by a guided “Ribbiting World of Reptiles and Amphibians” walk with the Adirondack Mountain Club, where we’ll explore local ecosystems and learn about the often-overlooked wildlife of the region.

July 11th is our big adventure day: a challenging hike to both Wright Peak and Algonquin Peak, two of the Adirondack 46ers. The High Peaks are defined by rocky climbs, exposed alpine zones, and rugged, glacially carved terrain. Wright offers a quieter, rocky summit with sweeping views, while Algonquin (New York’s second-highest peak) opens into dramatic, 360-degree panoramas of the MacIntyre Range and the vast wilderness beyond. Together, they deliver one of the most rewarding ridge-line experiences in the Adirondacks.

This trip blends classic camp life, shared meals, guided learning, and a true High Peaks summit experience in one of the most beloved wilderness areas in the Northeast.
