Women's Winter Ecology

December 5th-7th 2025

Step away from the busyness of everyday life and immerse yourself in the quiet beauty of winter. Just an hour from Buffalo, our Women’s Winter Ecology Retreat at Whispering Pines Camp offers a weekend of guided hikes, winter ecology exploration, somatic yoga, and peaceful time to craft and reflect. Nestled on 615 acres of serene forests, meadows, ponds, and winding trails, this easily accessible getaway is designed to help you reconnect with the natural world, ground yourself, tap into your creativity, and build meaningful community. From Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, we’ll embrace the magic and stillness of the season—gathering around nourishing meals made with care, sharing stories, and recharging together in the heart of winter.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cozy Welcome

On Friday evening, we’ll gather at Whispering Pines around 6 PM to settle in and share a nourishing winter meal made with care. After dinner, we’ll take time to get to know one another in a welcoming circle, followed by an optional guided night hike through the quiet winter woods. We’ll end the evening cozied up by a wood-burning fire—relaxing, connecting, and easing into the rhythm of the weekend.

Day 2: Wander & Wonder

Saturday begins with a delicious breakfast to fuel the day, followed by small group sessions that invite you to slow down and connect—with your body, your creativity, and the land. You’ll rotate through somatic yoga, guided hikes along snow-covered trails, hands-on winter ecology lessons, and seasonal crafts designed to spark joy and reflection. Hot tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, with a warm lunch in between. We’ll end the evening with a hearty dinner and another chance to gather by the fire, sharing in the comfort and calm of a winter’s night.

Day 3: Winter Reflections

Our final morning begins with an optional sunrise hike to take in the quiet beauty of winter one last time. After breakfast, we’ll ease into the day with somatic yoga, a final winter ecology lesson, and time to wrap up any crafts from the day before. We’ll close the weekend with gratitude, reflection, and farewells—carrying the peace and connection of the retreat back into our daily lives.

"Amy and her business Wandering Wild are the best! I went on her retreat to Vermont. She had a fantastic itinerary planned. It was a mix of camping, hiking, sightseeing and food. The trip was good for the soul.

If you’re looking to bond with some great women I’d recommend any of Amy’s retreats."
