Women's Wilderness First Aid

November 21st-November 23rd

This Wilderness First Aid (WFA) + American Heart Association BLS (CPR) course isn’t just about certification, it’s about empowerment.

Designed specifically for women who venture beyond the pavement and into the outdoors, this course offers an opportunity to gain essential skills that could make all the difference in the wilderness or front country. Over three days (November 21st–23rd, 2025), you’ll dive into ~16 hours of hands-on wilderness first aid training plus ~3 hours of CPR training—held at The Park School, where you’ll practice real-life emergency scenarios across the property’s natural spaces.

But it’s more than just learning. It’s a chance to belly laugh harder than you have in a long time as you learn and grow, connect with like-minded outdoor-loving women, build genuine community, and leave feeling more confident and prepared to handle challenges on your adventures.

Whether you're new to the backcountry or an experienced trip leader, this experience is about becoming not only safer—but also stronger, braver, and more capable together.

Friday, November 21st: 6:00pm-9:00pm

Saturday, November 22: 8:00am-6:00pm

Sunday, November 23: 9:00am-3:00pm

WFA covers the most critical aspects of providing safety and first-aid in a wilderness setting. Adhering to the wisdom of the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) and their guidelines, you will receive both theoretical and practical, up-to-date training. The resulting certification is valid for 3 years. Must be 18 or older.

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support training, which includes CPR certification, will also be a component of this course. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for 2 years.

Cost is $225

"I first obtained my WFA certification for peace of mind as a Girl Scout leader and lover of outdoor recreation. Based on convenience of location and timing, I registered for Women’s WFA training through Earth Spirit Education as my current certificate was about to expire and I had trips planned. This was my first time taking WFA with Earth Spirit, although I knew of them through a guided First Day hike a couple years ago. This weekend was different from my past certification trainings. The Earth Spirit staff and their network of outdoor enthusiasts including Amy Long of Wandering Wild assisting, embody that the outdoors is for everyone, covering topics outside of the text with a positive, strength based, inclusive environment. From the instructors to the participants, empowerment was present in all things. I walked out of the training with cheeks sore from laughter, connections with new people, and main goal accomplished; I have the knowledge and confidence to keep myself and others safe in the backcountry or to help if needed".
