Fall Camping in Vermont

October 10th-13th 2025

Join us for a weekend of cozy campfires, crisp mountain air, and camping under the stars. Whether you’ve never spent a night in a tent or you’re a seasoned wilderness woman, if you’re looking to build community with like-minded women and experience the magic of autumn wrapped in a real adventure, this trip is for you.

It’s giving campfire charcuterie, enchanting forests, badass hiker energy, and full-on Vermont foodie vibes.

We’ll camp together in a beautiful state park in Waterbury, sip warm cider around the fire, and taste our way through some of Vermont’s most iconic spots like Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Ben & Jerry’s, and Cabot Creamery. We’ll hike to sweeping views at Stowe Pinnacle and the reflective waters of Sterling Pond, ride the Stowe Skyride Gondola for panoramic mountain views (yes, you can enjoy them with a glass of wine or a local IPA at the top), and drive the famously stunning Smugglers Notch, where winding mountain roads are lined with glowing fall foliage. We’ll even explore a covered bridge with a bit of mysterious history tucked into its timbers.

This is your chance to reconnect with yourself, build real friendships (because let’s be honest, making new friends as an adult is hard), and step fully into your own cozy, adventurous, main-character fall energy.

Itinerary

Day 1: Campfire Kickoff

Arrive at Little River State Park at 3 PM to set up camp and settle in. We’ll ease into the weekend with a casual meet & greet, a shared dinner, and stories around a glowing campfire under the stars.

Day 2: Taste & Trek

A day for savoring Vermont’s finest! We’ll sample fresh cider, donuts, creamy cheeses, rich chocolates, and sweet maple at local favorites like Cold Hollow Cider, Cabot Creamery, and Nebraska Knoll Sugar Farm. After fueling up, we’ll stretch our legs on the beautiful Stowe Pinnacle Trail and stop by a classic Vermont covered bridge. The evening wraps up with a hearty campground dinner and another cozy campfire.

Day 3: Peaks & Pond

We’ll soar to mountain views on the Stowe Gondola, then hike to the sparkling Sterling Pond. A scenic drive through Smugglers Notch will lead us to a tasting at Smugglers Notch Distillery. We’ll cap the day with dinner out in Stowe or Waterbury, enjoying local flavors one last time.

Day 4: Sweet Farewell

After packing up camp, we’ll share one final sweet moment together at the Ben & Jerry’s Factory Tour at 10:30 AM. Hugs and goodbyes as we head home with full hearts, sweet memories, and maybe a pint or two for the road.

Trail Tip: Explore the charming towns of New England as you drive home Monday! Take the back roads to soak in the foliage and find hidden gems along the way.

"Amy and her business Wandering Wild are the best! I went on her retreat to Vermont. She had a fantastic itinerary planned. It was a mix of camping, hiking, sightseeing and food. The trip was good for the soul.

If you’re looking to bond with some great women I’d recommend any of Amy’s retreats."
